Her Story

About Irene

I started my career 25 years ago after attending St. Mary's College with a general business focus. I began in the private sector at New York Life Insurance doing HR work which sparked my passion. After experiencing the dot-com recession and a layoff, I took an administrative role at the City of Redwood City to get my foot in the door of local government. From there I moved through HR opportunities at San Jose State University, City of San Jose, Milpitas, and Mountain View before landing at the City of Los Altos where I've been for the past 5 years, helping turn around the organization post-COVID.
