Her Story

About Irene

Irene Hall serves as an insurance underwriter focused on personal auto insurance. She began her career in the field in 2018 after earning a Bachelor's of Human Sciences and a Master's of Business Administration from Springfield College. Hall works from home with Incline Casualty, where she was promoted from a customer service role due to her initiative in learning systems and guidelines independently. She is frequently recognized as Underwriter of the Year and serves as membership director for the Tampa Bay Black Chamber of Commerce while participating in outreach programs with St. Vincent de Paul, including distributing food to the homeless every other Saturday. Hall attributes her success to her interest in the work, the flexibility of working from home, and the confidence her leadership team places in her.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Irene

01What do you attribute your success to?

I find it very interesting, something new to learn every day. I like the workload and working from home. My leadership team has so much confidence in me, I'm not being micromanaged.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Always be willing to learn. I wasn't even trained for it but I got my promotion because I learned the different systems and guidelines on my own time. Being teachable and doing things on your own.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The book of business and agents, because you have to cater to them and if they get mad they want to cancel their entire books of business, which makes the business fluctuate. I've been through 3 turnovers since 2018 because of things like that.
