Her Story

About Irina

I am an immigrant who lived in four different countries. I have a BFA in art from Bezalel Academy of Art in Israel where I studied film and received an award in video art in 2001. After working in the film industry doing documentaries and news for Russian and Israeli television, I transitioned into life insurance and retirement planning four years ago. I am a broker with Perennial Legacy in Los Angeles focusing on life insurance, tax-free income, retirement planning, and long-term care. My success comes from loving learning and people, and being open to finding new solutions.

Ten minutes with Irina

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my background in general. I love learning and I love people. I'm open to find new solutions maybe for people that they didn't think of.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never to give up, just to take a day by day. Put some powder on your nose. Nobody needs to know what's going on through your life right now and just continue.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Take a deep breath. It's not easy, but it's rewarding in the end when you see helping people, but it takes time. There is no magic to it. You need to learn how to approach people. And you need really to want to do it. Nothing comes easy.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is prejudice. People thinking that we want to take away something from them or that we're talking only about the death benefit. We are talking about the living benefits, protection for your income in case of sicknesses.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being straightforward, not talking around the corners. Humbleness. To value yourself, what you do, to stand behind what you do.
