About Iris Tatiana
Iris Tatiana Sanchez, PMP, is a Senior Project Engineer at Lockheed Martin Space, where she leads and supports cross-functional teams in the planning, testing, and execution of complex technical programs that advance space exploration. Although she is newly part of the aerospace industry, she brings more than a decade of experience in project and program leadership, business transformation, requirements management, and solution delivery. Her approach is guided by curiosity and collaboration, and she is known for bringing clarity and momentum to complex, high-stakes work.
Her career began in transportation, where she worked with the Florida Turnpike Enterprise and Department of Transportation while still in college. She earned multiple promotions and contributed to a pilot project aimed at improving police response times on highways. She then spent several years at NBCUniversal, launching global channels for international markets and overseeing content compliance, quality assurance, and operational standards. There she redesigned a localization workflow that cut processing time from seven days to two, and she earned recognition for going above and beyond. At Charter Communications, she expanded into software development, sprint planning, and process optimization, tripling Statement of Work processing capacity and cutting project turnaround times in half.
Tatiana later advanced into solutions architecture at DISH Network, partnering with executive leadership on enterprise onboarding and government-funded initiatives, including community safety projects. Most recently at Boost Mobile, she led retail wireless initiatives from intake to delivery readiness and earned a Curiosity Award for using AI to strengthen requirements and documentation. A Project Management Professional with bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication and in International Relations from Florida International University, she is bilingual in English and Spanish. She credits her achievements to integrity, curiosity, and a lasting commitment to self-improvement.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of integrity, curiosity, and an underlying drive to keep improving. I honor who I am, stay eager to learn, and always push myself to do more and go above and beyond expectations, both for my own personal achievement and for the quality of my work.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Understand who you are, including your strengths and your weaknesses, and always look for ways to improve yourself. Stay curious and reach out to colleagues while maintaining integrity and work/life balance. If something falls outside the scope of your role, don't let that stop you from branching out: make the call, learn someone else's process, and take those opportunities to grow.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the value I hold most closely. I honor who I am and my values and beliefs, stand by my word, and strive to bring integrity to the work I do, to the person I am, and to the way I interact with others.
