About Iris

Iris Trout is a financial advisor, entrepreneur, technology professional, and nonprofit leader whose career spans financial services, software quality assurance, web development, and community outreach. She currently serves as a Financial Advisor, owns Warmth Site Builders, and leads Be The Warmth, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing blankets and winter essentials to individuals experiencing homelessness throughout New York and New Jersey. Her professional background also includes executive leadership roles in technology, management consulting, and quality assurance, where she specialized in business transformation, operational excellence, and strategic performance management.

Trout earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business with honors from Marymount University after graduating from high school early and balancing full-time work with weekend college studies. She is a Licensed Life Insurance and Securities Agent, a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and ITIL certified. Throughout her career, she has combined expertise in financial education, digital business solutions, and organizational leadership to help individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations achieve meaningful and lasting results. Following a life-changing accident that redirected her career, she transformed adversity into purpose by expanding her focus on education, service, and community impact.

Driven by resilience, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to learning, Trout believes success is measured by the positive difference one makes in the lives of others. She is passionate about educating clients, supporting underserved communities, and encouraging young people to become active participants in community service through her nonprofit initiatives. Whether guiding families through financial planning, helping businesses strengthen their online presence, or leading humanitarian outreach efforts, she remains committed to serving with honesty, compassion, and purpose while inspiring others to continue learning, adapt to change, and never lose sight of what truly matters.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Iris

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to remaining resilient, continuing to learn, and always being willing to adapt when life takes an unexpected turn. Every stage of my career has taught me valuable lessons that I have applied to new opportunities. My experiences in financial services, technology, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit leadership have all strengthened my ability to help others. I believe success comes from serving people with honesty, compassion, and practical solutions. Most importantly, I have never allowed setbacks to define my future, choosing instead to grow through every challenge.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of advice I have ever received is to never stop learning. I believe education continues throughout your entire career, whether it comes from formal training, real-world experience, or the people around you. I have learned to appreciate what I have accomplished while always looking ahead to new opportunities for growth. I also believe it is important to stay true to yourself and never settle for less than what aligns with your values and purpose. Honesty, curiosity, and continuous improvement have guided every step of my professional journey.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to believe in themselves, continue learning, and never be afraid to explore new opportunities. Stay authentic and build your career around your own strengths and values rather than trying to meet someone else's expectations. Be willing to adapt as industries change and embrace challenges as opportunities to grow. Never settle for a career that does not bring you purpose or fulfillment. Most importantly, always lead with integrity because trust is the foundation of lasting success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges across my work is helping people understand the value of the services and support available to them. Whether I am discussing financial planning, website development, or nonprofit initiatives, education is often the first step before meaningful action can take place. Communicating complex ideas in a way that people can easily understand requires patience and trust. At the same time, this creates tremendous opportunities to educate, build relationships, and make a lasting impact. When people understand the purpose behind a service or mission, they are much more likely to engage and benefit from it.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity are the values that guide everything I do. I believe in always being truthful with my clients, supporters, and the people I serve, even when the answer may not be what they want to hear. Trust is earned through transparency and consistent actions, and I work hard to build that trust every day. I also value compassion, lifelong learning, and serving others with genuine care. Staying true to myself and treating people with respect are principles that influence both my professional and personal life.
