About Irma
Irma Berry-Scott is a ministry leader, entrepreneur, and community advocate with a lifelong commitment to faith-based service, leadership development, and empowerment. She serves as Pastor and Founder of Overcomers Ministry, where her mission is to equip individuals with spiritual tools, biblical teaching, and practical guidance to overcome adversity and walk confidently in purpose. Alongside her ministry leadership, she is the Owner of Irma’s House of Fashion, an upscale fashion boutique for men and women, where she applies her strengths in business management, customer engagement, operations, and community outreach.
Her calling in ministry spans several decades, beginning in the early 1980s when she first entered ministry service. Over time, she advanced through progressive leadership roles, serving as a minister, then an evangelist, and later a licensed evangelist. Her dedication and spiritual leadership were further recognized when she was ordained as an elder in 2014, followed by her appointment as Pastor in 2015. With more than 11 years in pastoral leadership, she has continued to grow her ministry impact through teaching, preaching, mentorship, and outreach initiatives designed to strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
Today, Pastor Irma leads a dynamic and expanding media ministry that reaches audiences across multiple digital and broadcast platforms. She hosts Overcoming with Pastor Irma twice weekly through live Facebook and YouTube broadcasts every Tuesday and Thursday, and she also leads Sunday afternoon services at 5:00 PM with Overcomers Ministry. In addition, she co-hosts the monthly podcast The Truth Uncensored alongside three fellow panelists, where they engage in meaningful conversations centered on truth, faith, and real-life experiences. She further extends her teaching through women’s ministry classes and a weekly television broadcast every Thursday evening on the Glory Network. Through these platforms, she continues to inspire, uplift, and empower others to live victoriously through faith, resilience, and spiritual growth.

Ten minutes with Irma
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith, my clarity of purpose, and my unwavering commitment to answering my calling. After accepting my faith as a freshman in college, I gained a deep sense of direction and conviction that shaped the path of my life and ministry. From that moment forward, I remained focused on fulfilling my purpose to share the gospel and serve others, which has allowed me to reach and impact millions of people through ministry, teaching, and media platforms. My success is rooted in obedience, consistency, and a dedication to using every opportunity to inspire, encourage, and uplift others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is that you can build a successful and meaningful life when you align your work with your purpose and remain true to your calling. I received this guidance early in my journey after giving my life to Christ as a college freshman, and it completely shifted my perspective on success. Since that moment, I have understood that true fulfillment is not only measured by professional achievements, but by the impact you make, the lives you touch, and the integrity you carry throughout your journey.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this field is to remain grounded in your purpose, stay consistent in your calling, and never underestimate the impact of your voice. Ministry is not limited to the pulpit—it extends through every platform and opportunity where you can share truth, encourage others, and live as an example of faith in action. Whether through live broadcasts, podcasts, television, or one-on-one mentorship, there are countless ways to reach and uplift others. Stay committed to growth, remain teachable, and be willing to serve faithfully wherever you are placed, knowing that your influence can help transform lives and inspire others to walk in purpose and faith.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field include the responsibility of consistently reaching and effectively engaging diverse audiences while remaining grounded in strong biblical teaching, especially in an ever-evolving digital landscape. Balancing ministry leadership, entrepreneurship, and multiple media platforms requires discipline, adaptability, and continual personal growth. At the same time, there are tremendous opportunities to expand global outreach through social media, television, podcasts, and live broadcasts, allowing the message of faith and encouragement to reach millions beyond traditional settings. In addition, my current pursuit of a master’s degree at Ezekiel Institute of Ministry further strengthens my ability to grow academically and spiritually, equipping me with deeper insight, enhanced leadership skills, and expanded capacity to serve more effectively in ministry and community impact.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important value in my work and personal life is my commitment to sharing the gospel with as many people as possible across the world. I am deeply passionate about reaching individuals beyond the United States through ministry, teaching, and digital platforms, ensuring that the message of faith, hope, and encouragement is accessible to all. Everything I do is guided by a desire to serve others, remain faithful to my calling, and use every available opportunity to positively impact lives globally through the Word of God.
