About IRYNA

Iryna Chyzh serves as a college professor in the education field, a role she has held since 2024. In this position, she teaches classes in Sociology, Criminal Law, and Social Problems, managing syllabi, grading, and approximately six classes per semester serving around 180 students of varying ages. Her educational background includes a Bachelor in Law earned in 2014 and a Master in Law in Ukraine, a Paralegal Certificate from City College of New York, an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice obtained in 2022, a Master's in Criminal Justice from Rowan University completed in 2025, and current status as a PhD candidate at Liberty University, where she will soon begin her dissertation. She is a lifetime member of the Northeastern Association of Criminal Justice and volunteers at a church in Bassville, New Jersey. Chyzh attributes her success to her willpower and her personal motto of never giving up. She values punctuality in her professional life and reliability, stress management, critical thinking, and situational decision-making in her personal life. Having started her career on a different continent in a new culture, she sees the opportunity in her field as achieving the American dream through hard work regardless of background. The best career advice she received came from her department dean, emphasizing that everything is possible with hard work and self-belief. Her advice to young women entering the field is to count only on oneself, build oneself up, and never give up, as life is a journey.

01What do you attribute your success to?

My willpower and my motto is no matter what, never give up. It is like lots of willpower.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Everything in this life is possible if you work hard and you need to believe in yourself even if the world has doubts about you. This came from the dean of my department who gave me the teaching job offer.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Count only on yourself in this life no matter what. Build yourself and never give up because life is a journey.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge was starting my career on a completely different continent in a different culture. The opportunity is that no matter where you came from or your family background if you have a dream and work hard you can achieve your American dream.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In work punctuality is most important always show up on time. In personal life reliability and being able to handle any level of stresses or challenges be a critical thinker and make decisions based on the situation.
