About Isabeau
Isabeau Brathwaite serves as an Education and Strategy Consultant in Chicago, Illinois, where she assists students and families in navigating the U.S. education system, beginning as early as middle school and aiming to help them reach their dream colleges. With six years in the education, consulting, and support field and her current role since October of last year, she conducts research on admissions trends, reviews student profiles, and meets one-on-one with clients to highlight their strengths and build confidence in their applications. A University of Chicago alumna who majored in biological sciences on the ecology and evolution track with a minor in creative writing focused on poetry, Brathwaite received the influential woman on campus award from the university's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and Center of Identity and Inclusion. She is a member of the Ron Brown Scholars Network and QuestBridge Alumni Network, and she actively volunteers by running the Chicago Marathon to raise funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention while planning ongoing involvement with their events. Her passion stems from her own experience as a first-generation, low-income student from Jacksonville, Florida, where she founded Step Up for College at her high school and later worked with organizations including the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Matriculate, College Possible, and various University of Chicago offices.
