Her Story
About Isabel
Isabel Serna serves as an associate and preparer in accounting, where she focuses on energy and excise tax credits. In her role, she prepares tax workbooks for corporate clients, helping them claim deductions such as solar credits on Form 3468 and biogas credits. Serna works as part of a team, handling client communications, setting up meetings, and updating reviewers on progress. Her path into accounting began in high school with a statistics class that sparked her interest in math-related careers. She researched options, selected accounting as her major, and earned her associates degree while still in high school before completing two years of university. Serna joined her current firm after interning in the summer and starting full time in January. She aims to obtain her CPA license and advance to a senior associate or supervisor position.
