Her Story
About Isabel
Isabel Verastegui has spent about 13 years in healthcare, inspired by family members working in the field, including her mother as a physical therapist and her father in a university medicine program. She developed a passion for oncology after family members faced cancer and began working in the field 11 years ago, starting at the front desk. Isabel holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Science with a major in Health Service Administration and completed her MBA in healthcare management. She works as a manager at American Oncology Network and volunteers as a CanCare Survivor Volunteer Ambassador, offering emotional support to those navigating cancer diagnoses. Having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 herself, she brings a unique perspective from both sides of patient care and aspires to become an educator in public health to better support patients.
