Her Interview
Ten minutes with Isabella
01What do you attribute your success to?
I've had some really good mentors and team members who I've been able to learn from and are role models for me. I think that makes the world of a difference, but you also have to come with an attitude of curiosity and wanting to show up every day. Having the right team and environment around you has really helped me get where I am today.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To always remember to be a student. No matter what level you're at, there's always something or someone you can learn from.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's important to have the courage to be yourself and speak up. What you bring to the table is valuable. Be authentic, don't be afraid to be yourself, speak up for yourself, give opinions, push back on strategies, ask questions. Your curiosity will take you far.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
In crisis and tech PR, media cycles are so fast moving and change on a dime. Social media has created a shift in how crises play out. We need to think of social media as a tactic to shift narratives. One comment or post on Twitter or Reddit can shift things. Crisis and PR in the age of social media will always be a unique challenge to navigate as you have to think about the platform, but also the person behind the account.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Accountability and empathy go a really long way, especially when they're coupled together.
