About Isabella
Isabella Wisinger is a media professional based in Little Rock, Arkansas, with about 5 years of experience across journalism and related fields. Her passion for the industry began with a love of reading and magazines that inspired her from a young age, leading her to work on a college magazine in her final year. Since then, she has pursued magazine-related projects as well as roles in marketing and sales, and she currently works in a full-time analytics position that has expanded her interest in data and technology. Wisinger credits much of her career progress to personal initiative, including directly reaching out to publishers for opportunities, and she has published with outlets such as the Idle Class and Arkansas Times. She values balancing her professional life with wellness practices, time in nature, and strong personal relationships.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I can attribute most of those successes to initiatives, being personally motivated. In a lot of cases where I've published at a magazine or something, it's because I directly reached out to those people myself. I would attribute a lot of it to being a self-starter, and being bold, even if you have no reason to think that the person you're reaching out to is going to respond, just doing it anyway. The worst people can tell you is no. I've made some pretty bold pitches to people that I have never met. Taking those risks has been really beneficial for me.
