Their work reflects a lifelong commitment to amplifying voices, challenging systems, and creating a more compassionate and equitable world where individuals and communities can thrive.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Isha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the incredible people I have had the privilege of working alongside and the strong teams that have supported me throughout my journey. I have learned that success is not achieved alone; it comes from building meaningful relationships, surrounding yourself with talented and inspiring individuals, and recognizing the value of collaboration. The encouragement, expertise, and dedication of those around me have been instrumental in helping me grow, overcome challenges, and achieve my goals.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is the importance of recognizing when it is time to stay committed and when it is time to pivot. I have learned that growth often requires discernment, the ability to evaluate opportunities, and the courage to make changes when something no longer aligns with my goals or values. Understanding when to move forward, embrace new challenges, and let go of what has reached its natural conclusion has been invaluable throughout my career.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to embrace perseverance and understand that success is rarely a perfectly straight path. One of the most valuable lessons I have learned is that progress often requires continuous course correction. Much like a mission to the moon, where staying on the exact path every moment is not what determines success, achieving your goals is about having the resilience to adapt, make adjustments, and keep moving forward. Trust your abilities, remain open to change, and remember that persistence and the willingness to recalibrate along the way are key to long-term success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in the nonprofit sector is securing sustainable funding and identifying the resources needed to bring impactful initiatives to life. However, one of the greatest opportunities is that the nonprofit world is driven by innovation, creativity, and the ability to turn meaningful ideas into reality. Success often comes from those who can dream boldly, develop compelling solutions, and connect their vision with the right partners and supporters. Bridging the gap between ideas and available resources remains the ongoing challenge, but it is also what makes the work so rewarding and transformative.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are the three C’s: collaboration, compassion, and communication. I believe meaningful success is built through working together, supporting others with empathy and understanding, and maintaining open, honest communication. These values guide how I approach relationships, leadership, and problem-solving, allowing me to create stronger connections, foster trust, and make a positive impact in the lives of those around me.
