Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to nearly two decades of experience across IT and operations, and a commitment to adaptability and growth. I began my career in IT, transitioned into Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO), and eventually found my way back to tech—this time with a focus on cybersecurity. At Impelix, I’ve spent the past five years helping clients move from reactive to proactive security strategies, strengthening their overall posture. One of my proudest achievements was turning around a previously dissatisfied client over 18 months, ultimately transforming them into one of our strongest advocates.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was, “If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.” Early in my career, I never saw myself in sales—honestly, I resisted it. But my first boss in IT told me, “You’re going to be in sales, and you’re going to be great at it.” I went into it hesitant and unsure, but over time, I discovered how rewarding it is to be a true solution provider. I found purpose in building strong relationships and helping clients solve real challenges, and that changed everything.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the tech and cybersecurity industry is to be a lifelong learner. This field is constantly evolving, and staying current is essential. I make it a priority to continue my education through ongoing certifications and training—it’s what keeps me sharp and confident in an ever-changing landscape. Embrace the learning curve, stay curious, and never underestimate the value you bring to the table.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in cybersecurity today is the lack of proactive engagement from some clients. Many wait too long to address their security needs, which puts their organizations at greater risk. Additionally, broader issues like tariffs and evolving cyber threats add complexity to the landscape. However, these challenges also present opportunities—to educate clients on the importance of early action and to implement stronger, forward-thinking security strategies that protect their businesses effectively.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and perseverance are core values that guide me both professionally and personally. As the only female account executive at my company, I’m committed not only to breaking barriers but also to paving the way for others. My success, including being recognized as a top salesperson in previous roles, reflects my dedication, client-focused mindset, and deep industry expertise.
