About Iyabo
My career journey has been one of continuous growth and evolution across multiple industries. I spent 16 years in the aviation industry with a helicopter company, starting as a receptionist and working my way up through various roles including secretary, executive secretary, and positions in the commercial department. I briefly worked as a business analyst for about 6 months before advancing to key accounts manager, where I spent 7-8 years managing B2B client relationships and ensuring service delivery. My key responsibilities included ensuring clients received the helicopters they paid for, managing current contracts, and overseeing service deliverables. One of my most notable achievements was acquiring over 100 clients for fixed wing operations, for which I was awarded Operational Excellence for winning those clients and monitoring successful contract execution. I also served as newsletter editor and Communication Coordinator, managed the tender and pre-qualification processes for several years, and maintained internal relationships with key stakeholders. I attended and managed conferences where we displayed helicopters and conversed with industry stakeholders to acquire new clients. After leaving aviation, I became a founding member of a fintech company. Currently, I serve as a director with CareCare Finance Global. I have also transitioned into the healthcare field, having completed an associate degree in occupational therapy assistance, which I am continuing to pursue. My expertise spans negotiation, managing accounts, acquiring clients in B2B business, and now client acquisition and management in the health sector, where I focus on helping individuals regain their independence.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Listen and learn. That's the best career advice I've ever received - listen and learn.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The desire to help individuals maintain their independence is what drives me. I feel like when independence is taken away from you, it impacts you in different ways. I don't like people to feel lonely, to feel like they're alone, and just giving them back that independence is key to me. It's very important to me to see individuals being able to do whatever they want to do, move around, and have all their means intact, such that they can make decisions by themselves. The ability to make a decision is very important, it's key to individuals, and when that is taken away from them, then everything is actually taken away. Giving people a new lease on life is what gives me that drive.
