About Izzy

Izzy Shill is a writer and director with 15 years of experience in the media field, focusing on film and commercial production. Based in Los Angeles, California, she earned a bachelor's degree in theater from Middlebury College and is a SAG member. After working as a professional actor for about 10 years in New York, she transitioned to writing and directing her own films approximately 7 years ago, having completed two short films and one feature film titled Going Nowhere, with her next feature set in the UK. She also produces commercial video and photo shoots for brands. Shill speaks French and attributes her success to a strong support network of friends who have recognized her potential. She values being a generous leader, a clear communicator, addressing issues promptly without micromanaging, and setting team members up for success. Among the challenges in her field, she notes the difficulty of securing financing in the U.S. due to the lack of government programs, while seeing opportunities in women supporting one another in key media roles. Her advice to young women entering the industry is to secure a solid day job to support creative pursuits.
