Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jaci
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, a willingness to learn, and finding an environment where I can both contribute and continue to grow. Earlier in my career, I spent time discovering where I felt most comfortable and valued, and when I began my current role, I found a position where my skills were recognized while also providing opportunities for personal and professional development. This role has allowed me to grow as a leader, pursue my education, and earn my associate degree while continuing toward my bachelor’s degree with the support of my organization. As a manager in telecom sales, I have been able to combine my passion for helping others with my leadership skills by training new team members, supporting my colleagues, and building strong relationships with customers through active listening and understanding their unique needs. I believe my journey has also been shaped by seeking mentorship from other women in my field, asking questions, and being open to learning from others. Ultimately, I attribute my success to staying curious, embracing new challenges, recognizing the value of my own perspective, and creating a supportive environment where people feel encouraged to grow and succeed.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is that leadership is not something you should wait to be given; it is something you practice every day through your actions, reliability, and willingness to support others. Leadership is demonstrated by stepping up, helping team members, and making a positive impact wherever you are. I have also learned that growth does not always happen in obvious ways. Sometimes, it is only when you look back that you realize how much you have learned and how far you have come. The key is to not wait until you feel completely qualified before pursuing new opportunities, but instead to embrace challenges, continue learning, and trust in your ability to grow along the way.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are creativity, continuous learning, and creating meaningful connections with others. I have always loved reading and exploring new ideas, and I am inspired by the possibility of one day writing my own book. One of my greatest aspirations is to open a café bookshop that brings people together through literature, conversation, and a shared love of learning. I value creating spaces where people feel welcomed, inspired, and connected while continuing to pursue my passions and personal growth.
