Ten minutes with Jackie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to persistence, the generosity and kindness of the people who have shared their time, wisdom, and support with me, and my willingness to continuously reflect, learn, and act on feedback. Growth has come from staying open to improvement and being committed to becoming better throughout my journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is that action creates change. A mentor encouraged me to “act myself into a better way of thinking” and reminded me that progress often comes from taking the first step. I’ve also learned the importance of considering feedback, even when only part of it applies, and using it as an opportunity to grow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage young women to trust their instincts and treat their desires as a compass. Take action toward what you want, surround yourself with people who believe in you, and allow their confidence in you to help build your own. Continue learning, growing, and taking ownership of your career journey.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is navigating environments where women may still face barriers or feel excluded, along with the emotional demands that come with high-performance fields. This highlights the importance of strong communities, support systems, and prioritizing mental well-being. At the same time, there is a significant opportunity to create leadership development programs designed for women, build confidence and resilience, and provide safe spaces where women can share experiences and increase their visibility.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Bravery, persistence, kindness, continuous learning, and self-reflection are the values that guide me. I believe in the power of community, service, and staying committed to personal growth while creating meaningful impact for others.
