Jaclyn Taylor is a seasoned leader in the development, design, and construction industry, she serves her clients with over 25 years of experience offering Owner's Representative services within commercial real estate development, design and project management. As President and Founder of Taylor REP, she provides strategic guidance, client advocacy, and project oversight for complex commercial development and expansion initiatives. Known for her ability to clarify the “why” and “how” behind each project, Jaclyn excels at building consensus among stakeholders to ensure impactful and sustainable results. Throughout her career, Jaclyn has emphasized the power of relationships, fostering collaboration across markets, communities, and state organizations. She partners with clients to evaluate development opportunities, assemble high-performing project teams, and create actionable plans aligned with both immediate objectives and long-term goals. Her expertise spans commercial development strategies, hands on project management, change management, and employee experience consulting, making her a trusted advisor for organizations navigating growth, relocation, or expansion. Recognized across Iowa for her transparency, intent, and client-focused approach, Jaclyn is passionate about creating lasting value for businesses, communities, and individuals. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to experiences I've had, perseverance, ongoing learning, and being willing to pivot. I've had a strong support system and intentionally surround myself with people who have the knowledge, who are consistent, who challenge my thinking, and hold the expertise that support my success. Their guidance and insights have been invaluable in helping me grow both personally and professionally.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Listen and observe; you will learn the answer and find resolve.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering the industry to remain open to unconventional paths within construction and development. Don’t feel limited to a single area—explore different roles, remain flexible, and actively seek mentors and diverse experiences. The industry is evolving rapidly, there are many opportunities beyond the traditional routes of engineering, construction management, or architecture degree. Be open to the evolution of self.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are kindness and creating meaningful, positive experiences. I strive to approach interactions with curiosity, and to foster environments where people feel supported and valued, gaining the confidence to move forward.
