About Jaclyn

Jaclyn C. Tiernan is the Co-Founder of Selene Aviation, a private aviation company she launched in 2022 with a focus on business development, strategic initiatives, and expanding the company’s presence within the aviation sector. With more than 14 years of experience in private aviation, Jaclyn has developed extensive expertise in private jet brokerage, client relations, aircraft transactions, and charter operations. Her career also includes experience in real estate, where she further strengthened her skills in relationship management, sales, and market strategy.

At Selene Aviation, Jaclyn specializes in managing private charter flights, supporting aircraft acquisitions and sales, and providing management consulting to aircraft owners. She oversees the many details involved in private aviation operations, including client consultations, catering coordination, crew duty times, and weather monitoring. Her entrepreneurial approach and goal-oriented leadership have helped her build a women-owned business in a traditionally male-dominated industry, while her professional involvement includes memberships with organizations such as WBENC, NBAA, GADA, and NATA, where she serves on the Airport Business Committee.

Jaclyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Sports Management and a Master of Education in School Administration from Lynn University. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Community Events and Marketing for The Foundation for Autism and Training Education, where she developed marketing strategies, supported fundraising events, managed social media initiatives, and helped promote greater awareness and support for individuals and families affected by autism. Beyond her professional pursuits, Jaclyn enjoys traveling, boating in South Florida, and spending time with her three boys.

I started in New York City at a large firm, then moved to a smaller company where I worked with my business partner for almost 11 years. We founded Selene Aviation in 2022 and obtained women-owned certifications for government contracts. Being in a male-dominated industry as a small female-owned company scaling successfully.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Being able to share her story as she has worked very hard to get to where she is today. Her notable achievements in the male-dominated aviation industry, highlighting how she and her business partner Rachel have successfully scaled their small female-owned company despite competing against larger organizations with more salespeople. Also her educational background, including bachelor's and master's degrees from Lynn University in sports management and educational leadership respectively.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
