About Jacqueline Thomas

Jacqueline Thomas is a telecommunications consultant, entrepreneur, and nonprofit leader whose career exemplifies the power of perseverance, continuous learning, and visionary leadership. With more than 40 telecommunications certifications and a Master's degree in Leadership Studies, she has built a distinguished reputation for delivering strategic technology solutions while helping organizations navigate complex communications challenges.

Jacqueline began her telecommunications career with AT&T, where she spent 17 years developing expertise in voice and data communications before taking early retirement in her 30s. In 1993, she founded her first company, System Design & Training (SDT), providing telecommunications consulting, training, and implementation services. As Chief Executive Officer, she led the company through years of growth and success before operations concluded in December 2001 following the economic impact that many businesses experienced after the events of September 11, 2001.

After several years of consulting, Jacqueline joined Nortel Networks, where she became a member of the company's prestigious Advanced Deployment Team. In this role, she supported high-risk and highly sensitive customer environments and earned more than 40 industry certifications across Nortel technologies, establishing herself as a recognized telecommunications expert.

Following Nortel's bankruptcy, Jacqueline served as Telecommunications Manager for George Mason University from 2011 to 2018. She was responsible for managing telecommunications services, infrastructure, and vendor contracts for all Northern Virginia campuses, ensuring reliable communications across a large and complex educational environment.

In 2009, Jacqueline officially established Platinum Destiny Group, a consulting firm dedicated to providing telecommunications and technology expertise. Since leaving George Mason University, she has focused on growing the business and serving clients across multiple industries. She currently supports Penn State Health as a telecommunications consultant, working remotely from Virginia and specializing in VoIP system transactions, contact center design and optimization, telecommunications infrastructure, and end-user requirements analysis.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jacqueline has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to community service and leadership. She has been actively involved in nonprofit theater for more than 40 years and has dedicated 22 years of service to a nonprofit women's organization, contributing her talents to mentoring, leadership development, and community engagement initiatives.

Perhaps most inspiring is Jacqueline's personal journey. Although she left high school in the 11th grade, she refused to let circumstances define her future. Through determination, self-education, professional certifications, and lifelong learning, she built a successful career in a highly technical industry and later earned a Master's degree in Leadership Studies. Her story stands as a testament to resilience, hard work, and the belief that success is achieved through persistence and a commitment to growth.

Today, Jacqueline is recognized as a trusted telecommunications leader whose unique combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and servant leadership continues to make a meaningful impact on the organizations and communities she serves.
