Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jacqueline

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think the being well-rounded as opposed to maybe kind of narrow in scope. It means that I'm able to handle both the personal element and relationships required by the roles I've taken but I'm also able to handle the more technical and quantitative elements that have enabled me to really propel and exceed in my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The importance of relationships every step of the way. You never really know when someone will come back into your life even if they've left the firm or the deal that you're on.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stay true to yourself. There will be a lot of people that you meet throughout the way that may encourage you to act or behave a certain way but really you see most success when you're your authentic self and that clients and peers and colleagues pick up on that.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In terms of professional life I guess in both of them communication is paramount. I think empathy is incredibly important particularly in high stress roles particularly in investment banking really being able to understand the people you're working with as well as your clients. I'm kind of super efficient super organized and those are things that pervade throughout everything I do.
