01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to an unyielding commitment to the Golden Rule: treating every single person exactly how I would want to be treated. In this industry, patients are often in highly vulnerable positions, out of their comfort zones, and entirely at the mercy of a technologist they hope will do their absolute best. Realizing the weight of that responsibility and choosing to anchor every interaction in deep, genuine respect is what builds trust, earns positive patient recognition, and drives a successful, impactful career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best professional advice I have ever received is to own your mistakes completely and use them as a catalyst to learn. There is absolutely no shame in slipping up or making an error, provided you have the integrity to admit it immediately. True professionals do not hide their missteps; they analyze them, absorb the lesson, and adjust their approach to ensure it doesn't happen again. Embracing accountability is the fastest and most respected path to true mastery and leadership.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the radiology and healthcare industry is to embrace continuous learning and remain adaptable, as technology is constantly evolving. Throughout my career, I have witnessed the transformation from manually developing film to utilizing advanced digital imaging systems and sophisticated software, highlighting the importance of staying current with industry advancements. I encourage others to approach change with curiosity rather than resistance and to view new technologies as valuable tools that enhance efficiency, improve patient care, and expand opportunities for professional growth. A commitment to lifelong learning and adaptability is essential for success in this ever-changing field.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in healthcare leadership today is maintaining a consistent commitment to patient-centered care and ensuring that this philosophy remains at the forefront of every team member’s daily work. In a fast-paced clinical environment, it can be easy to become focused on processes and responsibilities while losing sight of the human element behind each patient interaction. I believe the greatest opportunity lies in fostering a culture of empathy, compassion, and understanding by reminding healthcare professionals that every patient is entering our care with unique fears, concerns, and vulnerabilities. By treating each individual with the same kindness and respect we would offer our own loved ones, we can create meaningful experiences, build trust, and provide the comfort, reassurance, and dignity that patients deserve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me most in both my professional and personal life are radical transparency, trust, and the preservation of human dignity. Growing up as one of five sisters helped shape my confidence, communication style, and willingness to advocate for what is right. Throughout my life and career, even during the most challenging and difficult moments, I have remained committed to treating others with compassion, respect, and understanding. I believe every person deserves to be valued and supported, especially during their most vulnerable moments. By fostering an environment built on honesty, openness, and trust, we can create stronger relationships, meaningful connections, and a culture where people feel respected and empowered.
