Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jacqueline

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being curious, having drive and determination from 12 years of martial arts training where the test isn't the test but everything that comes before it, and having amazing parents who were our greatest cheerleaders along with my two sisters.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Keep going and do not give up. Also, to be still and take time to look around and realize all that's been accomplished and all that's ahead of us.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be nimble and put on your detective hat to figure out regulations in specific states. Be passionate about education and hold tight to it as a gift, and cherish mentor relationships.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is funding not being available for organizations that want to bring healthcare to underserved populations, especially nonprofits and federally qualified health centers that depend on federal funding. The unknown of funding in years to come is a major issue.
