Jacqueline created L.O.L.A. to connect clients with independent beauty and wellness professionals while giving providers a place to showcase their work and grow their businesses. She is also building Lola May, a lifestyle and beauty brand rooted in her philosophy of “Soft Living. Strong Presence.” Through her work, Jacqueline hopes to create opportunities for others while continuing to build a community around the industry she loves.
At the heart of Jacqueline’s work is her belief in maintaining a positive mindset and believing in what is possible, even before you can see it. She believes in supporting the people around her and creating something that can make a real difference.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jacqueline
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being willing to learn and taking action even when I do not have everything figured out. My career has taken me through different fields, and each experience has taught me something that has shaped who I am today.
I also genuinely love seeing other people succeed. Supporting others is a big part of why I created L.O.L.A. and continue to build Lola May.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Either you get it done or you don’t. There will always be reasons to wait, doubt yourself, or make excuses, but at some point you have to take action.
I believe in figuring it out as you go.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do not listen to the outside noise. If you truly believe in yourself and what you are building, there is no room for doubt. Trust yourself and keep going even when other people do not see your vision yet.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is that many independent beauty and wellness professionals are doing everything on their own. They are providing services, managing clients, marketing themselves, and running their businesses all at once. I see technology as a huge opportunity to simplify that process, create better connections with clients, and give professionals more tools to grow. That is exactly what inspired me to create L.O.L.A.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Maintaining a positive mindset is what matters most to me. I truly believe your mind sets the trajectory of your life, so I believe in being a little “delusional” about your dreams and believing in what is possible before you can see it. I try to lead with kindness, encourage the people around me, and keep my mindset focused on what I want to create.
