Since beginning her work in documentation in 2016, she has supported engineering and manufacturing environments by helping organize and maintain technical documents, CAD files, and database systems such as SharePoint. Her professional background also includes technical support and administrative responsibilities, including experience in engineering-related settings such as Burke Porter.

Jacqueline has an interdisciplinary educational background spanning anthropology, museum studies, and information systems management. She completed undergraduate studies in Anthropology, followed by a master's degree in Anthropology incorporating Museum Studies. Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jacqueline

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to persistence and determination. I believe in digging in, never giving up, continuing to push forward, and seeing tasks through regardless of the challenges.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to pursue what makes me happy rather than choosing a path based on what my parents or spouse want. I’ve also learned the importance of knowing when to say no and being patient enough to wait for an opportunity that better aligns with my career goals.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is to understand what you want to pursue, follow your interests, and obtain the education or experience needed to reach your goals. Don't let anyone convince you that women cannot succeed in technology. Be willing to challenge discrimination and stand up for yourself and your capabilities.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in documentation and technical writing is that the field's contributions are often indirect and may not be immediately reflected in a company's bottom line. As a result, executives may underestimate its importance until resources are reduced and problems emerge. Another challenge is that documentation professionals are not always given the respect or recognition they deserve, despite the essential role their work plays in supporting business and engineering operations.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and clear communication are especially important to me. I value working with people in an environment where expectations are communicated clearly without unnecessary micromanagement. I also believe in building positive working relationships and adapting to different management styles.
