Her Story

About Jacqueline

Jacqueline Nolan is the founder of Splash Development, where she assists nonprofits in obtaining both the communication support and funding required for research projects. Her work centers on canine health research for national breed clubs affiliated with the AKC, bridging the gap between technical research teams and donors or stakeholders by translating complex genetic and veterinary topics into accessible messaging. With a background as a registered vet tech and studies in animal biology at UC Davis, she brings 20 years of experience in development and stakeholder relations. Nolan has served on the board of the Greater San Diego Basset Hound Club for 20 years and actively mentors up-and-comers in fundraising for dog clubs, including preparing others to run national dog shows. She has also contributed to broader nonprofit efforts involving conservation and political activism, while maintaining a passion for projects that leverage canine genetics research with potential human health crossovers.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be discouraged by a no. You're gonna hear a hundred no's before you get a yes. Don't get discouraged, just keep going. Be true to yourself, have your confidence, build your confidence, never have to explain yourself to anyone. Learning when to move on, learning when a deal is dead.
