Her Story
About Jacqueline
I've been in the events and hospitality industry for over 15 years, working across a variety of sectors including tech, human resources, and sports. I've found a really nice pocket in the tech industry where I've been for the last 6 or 7 years. When I got out of college, I found a really great internship with a company called The Bastion Group, and I worked my way up with them to become an event manager. From there, I just kind of took it and with every company, I built myself up to that next level of event planning. I've dabbled in being a full-time worker to a contract worker over the last couple years based on the opportunities and the companies to work with, and I've been very blessed to have such a great career working with these top companies, either full-time or on a contract basis. I'm kind of a jack-of-all-trades, and I'm really great at the whole logistics of events from top to bottom. My day-to-day changes depending on what's needed - this week I'm working on building out a big security plan for our upcoming conference for a big client, handling temp staffing, brand ambassador staffing, photographer and videographer coordination, but I'm also one of the main leads on that project, so I have a whole grasp on the whole event. I've done every event process and been part of that, and I've even planned weddings, so I have experience in all aspects of the event planning world.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The job's never gonna be easy. But you're gonna find people along the way that are gonna help you, and mentor you, and then you can also help and mentor those that are below you. So find basically your tribe of people from your journeys that you go on in this industry, and keep them close, and build together with each other within the industry.
