About Jacqueline
Jacqueline Shinall is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Reliability Lead based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with extensive experience working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan. She began her career in the autism field after earning a master’s degree in neuroscience from Columbia University and later pursued a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, where she specialized in autism spectrum disorders. Her clinical training has focused on psychological and neuropsychological assessment, diagnostic evaluation, consultation, and evidence-based care.
Jacqueline completed her clinical psychology internship and subsequently served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where she conducted autism diagnostic and neuropsychological assessments with adolescents and adults. She currently works at Prosper Health as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Reliability Lead, overseeing clinical quality assurance and reliability initiatives for a national telehealth practice specializing in adult autism assessment. Her responsibilities include developing clinical standards, reviewing cases, training clinicians, monitoring quality metrics, and promoting consistent, evidence-based diagnostic practices while maintaining independent clinical judgment.
Throughout her career, Jacqueline has emphasized compassionate, strengths-based, and neurodivergent-affirming approaches to psychological care. She is particularly passionate about improving adult autism assessment, addressing nuanced presentations and masking, and helping clinicians provide ethically sound and clinically defensible evaluations. Beyond her professional roles, she has contributed to autism-focused research and community programs, including ActionPlay, a theater program supporting social communication among young people with autism. Her work reflects a commitment to advancing understanding of autism and improving the quality and accessibility of care for neurodivergent individuals.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My passion and dedication to the work, along with 16 years of experience across the autism spectrum and lifespan. Also incredible mentors and supervisors who modeled compassionate, strengths-based care.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always be open-minded and learn from autistic people and advocates. Do not back down on salary or tasks. Advocate for yourself and do not accept inequitable pay or lack of supervision.
