About Jacqueline
Jacqueline So is an accomplished accounting professional and Director at Connor Group, bringing extensive experience in financial reporting, controllership, technical accounting, and process improvement. Based in Los Angeles, Jacqueline has built a career spanning more than 15 years across accounting, audit, and financial services. Her professional background includes leadership roles in managed services, technical accounting, and IPO services, following earlier experience with EY in Hong Kong and Silicon Valley, as well as audit and assurance roles in Australia. She specializes in SEC financial reporting, month-end close, external audit, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, SOX 404, and helping organizations strengthen their accounting processes and controls.
Jacqueline's professional foundation reflects her international education and career journey. She grew up in Hong Kong before studying in Sydney and Wales, developing a global perspective that has complemented her work across Australia, Hong Kong, and the United States. She earned a Master of Professional Accounting in Accounting and Finance from UNSW and a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accountant in Accounting and Finance from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Throughout her career, Jacqueline has combined technical accounting expertise with practical problem-solving, supporting organizations as they navigate complex reporting requirements, operational improvements, and evolving financial processes.
Outside of her professional life, Jacqueline is devoted to her family and enjoys creating meaningful experiences with her husband, son, and daughter. Their family loves hiking, spending time together, and supporting their children's activities—her son enjoys golf, swimming, and baseball, while her daughter participates in gymnastics and swimming and is exploring acting classes. Jacqueline also enjoys cooking and baking, often with her daughter helping in the kitchen, and the family frequently visits Universal Studios, which is close to their home. An avid ice skater, Jacqueline considers skating her personal escape and a time to think and recharge, while she also enjoys going to the gym. Her international roots, accounting expertise, family values, and commitment to continuous growth have shaped a career defined by adaptability, discipline, and connection.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My company is really supportive and gives me direction to keep growing from supervisor to director level. My team pushes me to grow and I also have support from my family.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
When challenges come, look into them, try to figure it out, do your homework, and never be afraid to ask for help from wiser people around you.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
There's never a silly question, every question is valuable so we learn together. Do your homework before asking, continue learning, and take courses or classes.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Being on top of everything not only with the workload but with the team members to ensure they are happy, can give opinions, and the company grows together while keeping all projects and international expansions on track and on time.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Trust is the most valuable asset in my field. We work together, trust each other, and believe we will get to the finish line while supporting one another. Never stop learning.
