Jacqueline Strozewski is a Lead Surgical Technologist with nearly two decades of experience supporting surgical teams and delivering exceptional patient care within the operating room. After initially pursuing pre-medical studies, she discovered her passion for surgical technology and earned an Associate of Science in Surgical Technology from Fortis College, Florida. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive expertise across multiple surgical specialties, including gynecology, general surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, orthopedics, and neurosurgery, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to patient safety, precision, and effective surgical support.

In her role, Jacqueline is responsible for preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile environments, anticipating surgeons' needs during procedures, and ensuring seamless communication among multidisciplinary surgical teams. Her broad clinical experience and attention to detail enable her to contribute to successful surgical outcomes while prioritizing patient well-being. She is recognized for her calm demeanor, technical proficiency, and ability to perform efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where teamwork and precision are essential.

Jacqueline attributes her professional success to her compassion, empathy, and unwavering desire to help others during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. She believes continuous learning, resilience, and effective communication are fundamental to long-term success in healthcare. Looking ahead, she plans to volunteer with LifeQuest to educate students about organ donation and donor registration, reflecting her ongoing commitment to patient advocacy, community education, and improving lives both inside and outside the operating room.

Ten minutes with Jacqueline

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my genuine passion for helping others. Supporting patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives and contributing to their recovery gives purpose to my work. I believe compassion and empathy are essential qualities that have guided me throughout my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I have received is to never give up on myself when challenges arise. I have learned to keep moving forward, continue challenging myself, and always remain open to learning something new.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women entering this field to develop resilience and not take difficult situations personally. Working in healthcare requires patience, professionalism, and emotional intelligence. People are often under tremendous stress, and understanding that their frustrations are usually directed at the situation—not at you—will help you build a successful and rewarding career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I see is encouraging newer professionals to develop a strong work ethic and commitment to continuous growth. Healthcare requires dedication, accountability, and teamwork, and investing in those qualities creates better outcomes for both patients and colleagues.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Communication and empathy are the values I consider most important. I strive to communicate clearly, support those around me, and approach every interaction with compassion, both professionally and personally.
