She is particularly passionate about discovering and shaping stories when the path is not immediately obvious, combining creativity, resourcefulness, and strong editorial judgment to bring ideas to life. She is also seeking opportunities to take on a larger creative role in concept development, story shaping, branded content, advertising, social media, and other forms of visual storytelling.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jacquelyn
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the inspiration of my mom, who pursued her dream of owning a food truck despite limited resources, and my best friend Adriana, whose confidence in advocating for herself and pursuing opportunities has encouraged me to do the same.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to keep pursuing my ambitions, speak up for myself, and confidently seek opportunities that align with my goals. My mom taught me that it’s never too late to pursue a dream, while my best friend Adriana showed me the importance of advocating for what I deserve.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don’t underestimate the value of being resourceful and knowing how to figure things out. In a creative industry, you won’t always have someone telling you what to do, so stay calm, solve problems, and keep moving forward.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One challenge is finding new ways to grow creatively when work can become repetitive, especially after spending years with the same companies, while also navigating being one of the few women in the room. I’m excited to bring my experience and skills into a new direction through freelancing and explore fresh creative opportunities.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value happiness, pursuing my dreams and goals, and finding an environment where I feel valued and wanted. I also believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance in both my personal and professional life.
