About Jade
Jade Slyke is an accomplished nonprofit executive, development professional, and community leader based in the Kansas City metropolitan area. She currently serves as Executive Director of HopeKids Kansas City, where she leads a chapter dedicated to providing fun, free events and a powerful community of support for families who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition, overseeing strategic direction, fundraising, partnerships, and overall growth. She has served in this role since 2023. Her earlier career includes work in kids ministry as coordinator and pastor, missions coordination, student staff with Young Life, and other nonprofit roles. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and corporate communications from the University of Central Oklahoma, with a double major. Her career reflects a deep commitment to service, relationship building, and creating meaningful support systems for children, families, and communities.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to do what you're designed to do, bloom where you're planted, and take every opportunity and run with it. Conversations and meeting new people lead to unexpected impacts.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Volunteer and get involved with a non-profit like Hope Kids to see the impact on families with children who have life-threatening medical conditions. A little investment can go a long way and help determine if it's a career path worth pursuing.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities include turning any extra tickets or experiences into Hope Kids events for families. Challenges involve growing partnerships and sponsorships and keeping volunteers engaged to support the many events and services provided.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Core values include hope and anticipation, family focus, community and support, safety and acceptance, and economic support. These ensure families have something to look forward to, feel supported as a unit, and are accepted regardless of circumstances.
