Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jae Renee

01What do you attribute your success to?

My mom posted something about me the other day that really captured it: my journey has always been purpose over distraction. I have a clear goal, and that goal is to position my family for generational wealth. I want a family compound - a huge piece of land where I can build houses for all my family members, close enough where we can visit and far enough where we don't have to be nosy. That's the ultimate goal: generational wealth, and for my children to be able to live comfortably in life and not struggle. That's what pushes me. I'm the sacrifice for the future, for my kids and their kids and all that. I have to sacrifice my time to build that. It's about staying focused on that purpose and not getting distracted along the way.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most rewarding part of my work is customer and client satisfaction. People think "oh, it's just a party", but no - these are very memorable occasions in someone's life that they can't get back. Whether they're turning a milestone age, getting married, celebrating a 50th anniversary, or retiring, these are moments and milestones in people's lives. At the end of an event, when they say 'this was amazing, you did exactly what I wanted you to do and more, you exceeded my expectations' - seeing that satisfaction on a customer's face ultimately just makes it all worth it. In my personal life, it's having the ability to provide a lifestyle for my kids that they may not have had otherwise if I didn't push so hard. I'm really proud that we're doing this straight off profit, off muscle, with no backup - it's straight what we accomplished. And my kids are still able to go to private school and have new shoes and all that stuff.
