Her Story
About Jagruti
Jagruti Kapadia has been in the design industry for over 10 years and currently serves as a design lead at Meta, where her responsibilities include product design and user experience design. Her day-to-day work has evolved with the rise of AI, bringing her closer to code bases and enabling faster shipping of designs. She began her journey with a passion for art and design competitions as a child in India, later combining this with computer science studies in high school. She pursued a master's in computer science, transitioning to human-computer interaction due to inspiration from a professor who was a former designer at Microsoft, and she also studied psychology on the side. This path led her to product design after exploring internships and research opportunities. Jagruti attributes much of her success to supportive women in the industry and influential female leaders. She participates in women in design circles, leads women in design mentorship, and mentors young designers, especially young female designers. Looking ahead, she aims to transition into a more formal leadership role in design while continuing to support the next generation of designers.
