Her Story

About Jaimala

Jaimala Bondre is a technology professional with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Although technology was not her initial career choice, she pursued a Master's in Computer Applications and completed additional courses through NCST and STAT, which helped solidify her path. Over the years, Bondre has often been one of the few women in technical and architectural roles, including leading an architectural group in one of her organizations. She credits her perseverance to guidance from industry leaders, strong family support from her mother and grandmother who encouraged self-reliance and careers, and inspiration from other women in the field. Bondre advises young women entering technology to overcome self-doubt, trust their abilities even when they do not know everything, and seize opportunities as they arise rather than waiting to be fully prepared.

Ten minutes with Jaimala

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think I did find a couple of leaders who were there in the field who were company, and I think a lot of it also came from within my own family, I guess. My mother and my mother were also proponents of, you know, having something for yourself, kind of. Caring up to what your dreams are, and, you know, having careers. I also grandmother very much instilled into me, probably, so I never gave up. A lot of encouraging women in the industry who have also been very inspiring.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You may not be the smartest, but that's where you have to shine. Women not probably a self-doubt, but they are always wanting to do everything perfectly. If I give you an opportunity, males who grab it, but there are women move before they kind of jump and leak onto that opportunity. You may know very little, but trust yourselves to be able to. You have to, so jump. You see what it has to, you know explore, and I think he'll be great. If the opportunity knocks, you just have to pick it up.
