Her Story

About Jaime

Jaime McGinty spent 20 years as a teacher before transitioning into runway modeling and public speaking. She has been modeling for Elite Runways for two years as part of her Ruins to Runway journey, which transformed her battle with alcoholism into a mission to raise awareness and help others. A mother of four and former teacher of the year, Jaime now works at Run and Free Ranch, an equine-assisted therapy center, while speaking at podcasts and women's events to show that no one is alone in their struggles. Her recovery, which included three treatment facilities and five hospital stays, taught her to let go of perfection and embrace faith, leading her to value family, faith, and friends above all.

Ten minutes with Jaime

01What do you attribute your success to?

My recovery journey involved 3 treatment facilities and 5 hospital stays. What finally clicked was getting to the bottom of why I was drinking, letting go of trying to be perfect, and letting go and let God arrange things. Each day got a little bit easier once I stopped hiding in my shame and started speaking out.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would always be, don't hide in your shame. That is what absolutely almost ruined me. Don't hide in your shame that we're all broken. Reaching out is the absolute bravest thing in the world you can do.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family for sure. I'm learning about faith, going to Celebrate Recovery. I value family, faith, and friends. People at rock bottom loving the Lord and worshiping is beautiful to me.
