Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jaime

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the community I've met along the way, my wonderful husband who has encouraged and challenged me, and a really good group of women in my orbit who provide advice on different aspects of life, as well as my mom, sister, and brother who always cheer me on.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

It's not linear. Careers aren't linear. It's just something we're taught really early on, and I think especially for women. I thought when I hit my 30s everything was cemented, but you can still do things. One other thing from my grad advisor: I'm not a rose, but I'm a weed. You don't fall apart when the climate changes, people will put cement over you and you just find a way to grow and break through it.
