Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jakaria

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success not to my own strength, but to the divine favor, will, and timing of the Lord—for His is the power, the glory, and the kingdom forever. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 (For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.) Every milestone in my journey is a reflection of His grace and purpose. I move forward knowing that without Him, I can do nothing—but through Him, all things are possible. Gloria in excelsis Deo.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to love and learn the systems around me. Embracing this mindset has allowed me to understand the bigger picture, work more effectively, and create meaningful impact in every role I take on.

As Galatians 6:9 (KJV) reminds us:

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

This verse keeps me grounded—reminding me that diligence, patience, and faithfulness in my work will always produce fruit in God’s perfect timing.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to lead with both wisdom and grace. Strive to be like the woman of Proverbs 31—strong, resourceful, and guided by faith. She is described as “clothed with strength and dignity; and she laughs without fear of the future” (Proverbs 31:25).

In every professional space, remember that excellence and integrity never go out of style. Learn continuously, stay humble, and let your character speak louder than your title. When you operate from purpose rather than pressure, and trust that God’s hand is on your path, your influence will extend far beyond your position.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in instructional design today is keeping pace with the rapid evolution of technology—particularly artificial intelligence, automation, and immersive learning tools. As the field grows more data-driven, instructional designers must balance innovation with human connection, ensuring that learning remains meaningful and accessible to all.

At the same time, this challenge brings an incredible opportunity. We now have the tools to create learning that is more personalized, inclusive, and globally scalable than ever before. From AI-enhanced adaptive learning systems to neuroscience-based design strategies, the future of instructional design lies in crafting experiences that not only transfer knowledge but also transform people.

For me, this work is deeply purposeful. Like the woman of Proverbs 31, who “works with willing hands” and “opens her mouth with wisdom,” I see instructional design as both a craft and a calling—one that empowers others to grow, lead, and fulfill their God-given potential.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are faith, integrity, and spiritual strength—anchored in putting on the full armor of God. My faith guides every decision I make, reminding me that true success comes from walking in alignment with God’s will, not just professional ambition.

As Ephesians 6:11 (KJV) says:

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

In both my work and personal life, this means leading with truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. These principles keep me grounded amid challenges, humble in success, and steadfast in purpose. Faith gives me clarity; God’s armor gives me strength. Together, they empower me to serve with excellence and resilience in every season.
