Jalicia Wyatt, MSW, MS
Currently, Jalicia serves a Juvenile Officer at the Arkansas County Juvenile Court and President and Coach of Stuttgart Gloves not Guns Boxing Club. She is the Director of Arkansas County Youth Growth & Development Program and Coordinator for the Arkansas County Enrichment Center. Deputy Treasurer and Board Member for the Arkansas Juvenile Officers Association and Council Member for the City of Humphrey. As well as the founder of Y.O.U. Revamped, LLC (Yearning to Overcome Uncertainty by being Revamped) and former Director of Humphrey Youth Ministries Outreach.
Jalicia began living out her purpose of empowering and serving others at a young age. Her goals are to offer unconditional support, education, confidence and increase positive outcomes for youth and communities. Jalicia has approximately fifteen years of experience and provided services to diverse populations such as delinquent juveniles, mentally ill, the incarcerated, and at-risk youth and families as a counselor, mentor, and advocate.
When she worked at the prison, she had overseen juvenile inmates that were in the adult prison system, and at that point, she realized she worked better with youth. Jalicia believes the adolescent age group is where you can actually make change, because after a certain age, they feel like "I know everything, I've done what I'm wanted to do." Working with youth, you can actually give them tools and give them information and help them make changes, and they have the time to make the changes and still be productive. Since starting her career and identifying her purpose to serve others, Jalicia understands and encourages the need of healthy lifestyles, intervention, and positive interactions.
In the next 5 years, Jalicia hope to see herself continuing to make a difference in the communities that she’s serving, as well as other communities, and being more involved in families and offering more family services, because she feels like there aren't enough family services to address the children and their families to build those relationships.

What do you attribute your success to?
I would feel like my greatest accomplishment is seeing youth thrive, seeing them make the changes that they felt like they couldn't make before, prior to us being involved in their lives. Seeing them reach the goals that they set for themselves, and seeing their output be beneficial. That's what drives me and what I consider success in my work.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was to stand for what I believe in and always advocate for myself and those I serve.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise a young woman to believe in your purpose, build real relationships, and start where you are comfortable. Don’t wait to be perfect use your voice now. Stand confident in every space, take care of your mental health, and stay consistent.
And your impact comes from showing up and staying consistent and committed.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I feel like there aren't enough family services to address the children and their families to build those relationships. That's why in the next 5 years, I hope to see myself continuing to make a difference in the communities that I'm serving, as well as other communities, and being more involved in families and offering more family services. Where we're located is small, so a lot of people aren't aware of our services and what all we offer here in Stuttgart. All of our services are free, so being able to put our programs out on other platforms and being able to network with other agencies and organizations who serve similar purposes is my goal, so that people know who we are, we can partner with people and collaborate with them, and we can help more people as a whole.
