Jalpa (Jill) Dave
I started working back in 2017, looking for a job that would match my skills of helping people, solving problems, being analytical, and figuring things out. Team Health led me there and fulfilled all my expectations. I work with patients, insurance companies, and attorneys, answering any questions they have regarding the doctor's bills which we generate. I update insurance information and bill the insurance out. We deal with nationwide hospitals and all kinds of insurances - Medicare, Medicaid, VA, auto, workman's comp, all the commercial insurances. We set up payment plans, take payments, and offer financial assistance. It can be something as simple as just checking on their balance or making a payment, or solving a really complex account which has been ongoing for 2 or 3 years. What makes me really happy is when a customer compliments you for doing a good job, when they tell you directly or let your supervisor know that you've done a good job. To be able to help them with something that was a large medical bill and get them through that - that's what keeps me going. Every call is a surprise. You don't know what you're gonna get, so every call would be something different. It's very diverse in that way, and that kind of kept me hooked onto the job.

What do you attribute your success to?
I just like achieving things. I guess I'm ambitious, so I have goals that I set myself up for, and I try to achieve them, like, in my job. In my personal life, I have my mom for my moral support. She really helps me get through everything. She's always there to support me.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Keep moving forward. Don't give up. You can fail a few times, and then you'll be disappointed in yourself, you'll feel like giving up. But just keep trying and don't give up. You'll overcome obstacles.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Good communication, honesty, transparency, good ethical values, positivity, and compassion are the values most important to me. Especially when you are in the medical field, all of those are really important to have. You can have somebody crying on the phone about their medical bills, and you really have to understand them and hold them through the process and tell them they're gonna be fine. You have to have that compassion when you are dealing with something so serious and so sensitive.
