Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jameelah

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to an internal drive and willingness to do the work consistently. I've always been the one raising my hand or running for positions, never afraid to be in the forefront. Being consistent with doing the work and showing up makes the difference, even when reading the fine print and staying up late to get results.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've received is to 'control your controllable.' In leadership there are tiers of responsibilities and fires to put out, so focusing on what I can change or affect gives me a blueprint and keeps me from being overwhelmed.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is the most important value. On my LinkedIn I say I build high-performing teams with integrity. My success comes back to the relationship I've built with myself and personal development to become an integral person. Integrity sets the tone for all relationships, and my friends and family support me because they know I try to do what's right even when it's challenging.
