Jana Mayfield

Jana Mayfield serves as Assistant General Manager at Big Bad Breakfast, a role she assumed after the Biscuit Love location where she previously worked shut down. With 10 years in the restaurant and service industry, Mayfield started in retail before transitioning to a brewery for serving and merchandising. She then moved into full restaurant roles as a server, advanced to assistant manager and kitchen manager, and eventually managed a restaurant on her own. In her current position, she oversees front of house staff including scheduling and conflict resolution, maintains bar standards, ensures proper food handling, and focuses on delivering excellent customer hospitality. Mayfield earned her ServSafe manager-level certificate and holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood and elementary education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which she completed in 2015 after attending Gardendale High School and initially exploring engineering and marine biology. She advises young women entering the industry to trust their gut, be true to themselves, and stay positive.
