Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to God and my faith, which have given me the strength, guidance, and resilience to navigate every stage of my journey. I am also deeply grateful for my mother, who has been my cornerstone and greatest source of support throughout the process. Her unwavering presence and help with my children have allowed me to focus on rebuilding my life and growing my company from the ground up after my divorce. Her support, combined with my faith, determination, and commitment to creating a better future, has been instrumental in where I am today.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is not to be intimidated by the physical demands of the work. Get your licenses, invest in learning, and be willing to start in an entry-level position to build a strong foundation of experience. With the right tools, training, and mindset, you can successfully perform the work and grow your skills over time. Women bring tremendous intelligence, adaptability, and multitasking abilities to the industry, and those strengths can make a meaningful difference on the job site. Most importantly, believe in your capabilities, continue learning, and never let the perception that the work is difficult prevent you from pursuing the opportunities available to you.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is that it remains a male-dominated industry. However, I see tremendous opportunity for women who are willing to earn their licenses, invest the time to learn, and build their expertise. It can be a rewarding career that provides financial security, a healthy work-life balance, and numerous opportunities for growth. Once licensed and experienced, women have the flexibility to choose the areas they want to pursue and create a career that aligns with their goals and strengths.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are family, faith, empathy, honesty, and integrity. I believe honesty is especially important in my industry because clients deserve transparency and clear expectations throughout the process. I believe in being upfront about costs, timelines, and what clients can realistically expect, rather than changing numbers or taking advantage of their trust. Building relationships based on integrity, respect, and genuine care is essential to me, both personally and professionally.
