Her Interview

Ten minutes with Janat

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to believe in themselves, pursue their ambitions, and never allow anyone to make them feel they do not belong in any room. Many limitations exist only in our minds, so stay confident in your abilities and, if your environment discourages your growth, have the courage to change it.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in STEM, particularly information technology, is the need for greater female representation and for women's voices to be heard and valued. There is also a need to make career opportunities and resources more accessible to first-generation students and those without family connections in STEM or corporate America, ensuring they receive the guidance and information they need early enough to succeed.
