Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jane

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, dedication, a strong work ethic, effective time management, and a consistent eagerness to learn new things. I genuinely love what I do, and that passion has allowed me to continuously grow and expand my skills rather than move away from my core focus in writing. I recently began exploring UGC content creation, starting a course earlier this week and securing my first gig today, which reflects how quickly I’m able to build on new interests when I’m passionate about them. My college experiences—through choir, theater, and sorority involvement—also helped shape my ability to manage responsibilities independently, which has prepared me well for running my own business and working with a diverse range of clients.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that it’s okay to make mistakes, because that is how we learn and grow, and to always keep pushing forward despite setbacks. I’ve also learned not to be intimidated by others and to consistently recognize and stand in my own worth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to be your authentic and unique self, and to bring your own voice and style into your work. Don’t be afraid to stand out, as your individuality is one of your greatest strengths. I also encourage continuous learning and upskilling through courses and certifications, because the more you know, the more you grow and the more opportunities you create for yourself.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The content field is currently very saturated, with many people entering the space, which makes it increasingly competitive to stand out. Because of this, I focused on scaling my skills and expanding beyond traditional content writing, which led me to copywriting as a way to grow and work at a higher level. I now work with multi-figure entrepreneurs and have also recently expanded into UGC, which has been a strong fit given my diverse background and skill set. For me, having a broad range of abilities and positioning myself as a generalist rather than limiting myself to one niche has opened up more opportunities and allowed me to continue scaling my career.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are being open and honest, leading by example, and being a good listener. I also place a strong emphasis on bringing positive energy to the people I work with, staying proud of my accomplishments, and remaining curious by continuously asking questions and seeking to learn more.
