Ten minutes with Janelle
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the incredible community that has supported me throughout my career, the exceptional mentors who have invested in my growth, and my own commitment to continuous learning, adaptability, and being coachable. I believe that surrounding yourself with the right team, embracing feedback, and fostering a culture that encourages growth from within are essential to achieving long-term success. By remaining driven, open to new perspectives, and committed to personal and professional development, I have been able to seize opportunities, overcome challenges, and continue advancing as a leader.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received was to create my own career portfolio because it gives you a stronger opportunity to stand out and showcase your accomplishments beyond a traditional résumé. I've also learned that perseverance and resilience are essential for long-term success. Equally important is maintaining an abundance mindset—understanding that opportunities are plentiful for those who continue to learn, grow, and put themselves forward with confidence.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: don't give up. Success rarely happens overnight, but with perseverance, resilience, and confidence in your abilities, opportunities will come. Don't view rejection as a reflection of your worth—it is simply part of the journey. Stay focused on your goals, continue learning, and embrace every experience as an opportunity to grow. When you believe in what's possible and remain committed to your path, you'll discover that the possibilities are truly limitless.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the beverage industry today is the rapid evolution of consumer preferences and the influx of new brands entering the market. This increased competition has contributed to industry attrition, restructuring, and workforce reductions across many organizations. At the same time, these shifts have created significant opportunities for innovation and growth. As consumer consumption patterns continue to evolve, brands that are agile, strategic, and have a clear value proposition are well positioned to stand out. I believe we are entering a period of renewed momentum, where forward-thinking leaders and differentiated brands have an exciting opportunity to thrive.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are community and collaboration. I believe that surrounding yourself with the right people and being part of a strong, supportive team can make all the difference in achieving success and overcoming challenges. I also value continuous growth and strive to build relationships with individuals who encourage, challenge, and inspire me to become better. When you're part of a community that invests in one another's development, work becomes more meaningful, success becomes more sustainable, and life is far more rewarding.
