Her Story

About Janet

Janet Klein is an Accounts Receivable / Managed Services Billing Associate at AHEAD, where she supports high-volume SaaS and managed services billing operations. In her current role, she manages invoicing, cash application, and month-end reconciliations while ensuring accuracy across hundreds of monthly invoices. She collaborates closely with account managers and cross-functional finance teams to resolve billing inquiries, support onboarding for new clients, and maintain strong financial controls in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Prior to her current position, Janet built a broad background in billing, collections, and revenue recovery across multiple organizations, including CDI LLC, Axcel Learning, and Paro.io. At Paro.io, she served as a Billing Manager where she contributed to significant financial outcomes, including recovering approximately $2.3 million in delinquent accounts and achieving a 70% success rate in credit card chargeback resolution. She is experienced with platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Sage Intacct, Stripe, and QuickBooks, and has consistently worked in roles focused on improving cash flow, reducing aging receivables, and supporting enterprise billing operations.

Janet is an Air Force veteran and a graduate of the Community College of the Air Force, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Military Technologies and Applied Sciences. Before transitioning into finance and accounting in 2016, she spent over 20 years as a licensed massage therapist and esthetician, operating her own spa business focused on health, beauty, and wellness. Outside of her professional work, she is passionate about animal welfare and fosters at-risk dogs and cats from local shelters. She also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and off-road jeeping, and is working toward building future business ventures including property management and a long-term nonprofit vision supporting veterans and animals.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Janet

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my persistence, determination, and unwillingness to give up. I tend to be very focused and resilient, which helps me push through challenges until I achieve my goals.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The more you do the work, the more you learn and grow from it. In the accounting field, there are many different career paths and opportunities, so it’s important to stay open to gaining varied experience. My advice to young women entering the industry is to believe in themselves and their abilities, and to stay persistent—confidence and consistent effort are key to building a successful career.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is the rapid pace of change. Even within my own organization, we’ve gone through major system updates and integrations, including merging computer systems, which requires a lot of adjustment and coordination. With the rise of AI and other emerging technologies, keeping up with these constant shifts and ensuring everything remains accurate, efficient, and well-managed can be challenging.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty and authenticity. I value genuine communication and I prefer when people are direct and straightforward rather than insincere or making false promises. Transparency is especially important to me, as I believe trust is built through clear, honest, and open interactions.
