What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to preparation, constant practice, being resourceful and maintaining a growth-mindset. I am grateful for the experienced professionals who have shared their insights with me over the years, the collaborative people or team I work alongside, and the constant support of my family. Each has played an essential role in my personal and professional growth.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received indirectly is that success doesn't happen by chance. As Brian Tracy once said, it happens when you create the right conditions for it. He called it "Setting the table" It's about organizing the environment, your thinking and your priorities before you take action.
Success is the result of preparation and consistent practice. If you want to succeed, you have to prepare for the future you want, stay open‑minded, and keep practicing until the things that once felt difficult become second nature. This advice really stayed with me, and I still apply it every day. It has been incredibly helpful and truly effective in my growth.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Payroll is a powerful career. You'll learn something everyday. My advice to young women entering the Payroll Industry is to build a strong foundation in compliance and be resourceful. Also, believe in the value of what you bring. Payroll is more than just processing numbers. It's about trust, integrity and impact. You play a critical role in people's lives by ensuring they are paid accurately and on time, and that responsibility builds confidence and credibility. Stay curious, invest in yourself by embracing continuous learning, and seek mentors who challenge and support you. Don't be afraid to take on new challenges, stay out of your comfort zone and share your ideas. With consistency, preparation and a growth mindset, you can build not just a career but a legacy of leadership and influence.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field right now are keeping up with the constant changes, new law, evolving technology and increasing complex workforces. At the same time the biggest opportunities are learning new tools, Automation, AI, better integration with HR and Finance systems, and using Payroll data more strategically to improve efficiency and support business decisions while protecting what matter's the most the employee's pay and trust.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me both personally and professionally are integrity, accountability, empathy, curiosity, and resilience. In payroll, integrity isn’t just a principle; it’s a promise. People trust us with something that affects their lives every single day, and I take that responsibility seriously. Accountability means owning my work, double‑checking the details, and standing behind every decision I make.
Empathy plays a huge role too. Behind every paycheck is a person with real needs, real responsibilities, and real emotions. Treating every interaction with respect and understanding helps me support them in meaningful ways. Curiosity keeps me learning. Whether it’s new laws, new systems, or better ways to solve problems. Because payroll never stops evolving. And resilience helps me stay steady through tight deadlines, complex cases, and unexpected challenges.
Together, these values shaped me how I show up, how I make decisions, and how I build strong, trusting relationships both at work and in my personal life. They remind me why this work matters and who I’m doing it for.
