Her Story

About Janice

Janice Simpson brings over two decades of experience to the beauty and wellness sector, with a focus on longevity. Her professional journey began in healthcare as a nurse after earning an associate's degree in nursing, including time spent in open-heart recovery. She later moved into medical aesthetics, serving as a nurse injector and owning a medical spa, which sparked her interest in how aesthetic treatments can positively impact clients' lives and confidence. Currently, she is building High Maintenance Label, a membership-based prepaid card program designed to help women budget for and invest in beauty treatments without guilt or justification. She is also advancing her education by pursuing a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, having transitioned from initial business studies. Simpson attributes her success to her parents' entrepreneurial example and values always putting others first while doing what is right, even when it carries personal cost. She advises young women entering the field to listen to their instincts about job satisfaction and to develop stick-to-it-ness without overcommitting to unfulfilling paths.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Janice

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success is 100% due to my parents and my upbringing. They were very successful entrepreneurs, and I aspire to accomplish all they did.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

A client who was a facial cosmetic surgeon advised me to have more stick-to-it-ness. I used to move on quickly based on instincts, but now I give things a fair chance before abandoning them.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Listen to that voice telling you that you can't do this for 10 more years. Don't wait. Change your job or change your attitude. Have some stick-to-it-ness, but not too much.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is complacency - getting comfortable and not staying relevant. Opportunities come from networking and connections accumulated over time; start early building and nurturing relationships.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Always putting the other person first and doing the right thing by people, even when it doesn't make money or has consequences. Helping others along the way is key.
